Literal Metaphors

Spring 2021

A project for an Art History class, the Literal Metaphors project was a project in which I meticulously researched Classical mythology. Then the mythologies were compared to various paintings of the Renaissance with mythological figures from Classical Mythology. Often, the figures from mythology were so recognizable and readily known, they could be used to represent various complex themes within Renaissance art. Within the presentation, I delve into various specific paintings and their related mythologies and meanings in the context of the Renaissance.
