Working at Magnolia Mound was important step in learning how to best connect with regular people about topics related to Anthropology, History, and local knowledge. Educating about history when many might not be interested was the most challenging aspect but allowed me to learn the most affective way to educate while keeping information palatable and respectful.

The Natural History Museum of LSU provided a formidible introduction to the managing of archival oriented organizations. I primarily sorted through documents and compiled results for various research projects being conducted by thrid party researchers

Archaeological Documents - Local History - Indigenous History - Material Culture Archiving - Translating - Education - Outreach

August 2021 - January 2022

Working with the State Archaeologist, Collections Manager, Head of Education and Outreach, I had the opportunity to contribute to various different projects. My primary focus was the managing and organization of Archeaological reports regarding Lousisana, I also help translate educational materials into French for public schools and helped organize material culture entering the State archive by sorting and sometime cleaning artifacts.

Assistant Editor, Delta Literary Journal

As the Assistant Editor, I helped with curating various pieces of prose and poetry submitted by students atending LSU and edited them to be published in the Delta Literary Journal. Particularly, I curated art and spoken art works submitted to the journal and corresponded with artists about relevant changes to be made for publishing.

Gardere Initiative

The Gardere Initiative is an education based community center that provides a variety of services like education, community outreach and betterment. There, I learned how to educate and advocate for and with a community with a distressed community, often in Spanish

VIPS Reading Partner

February - April, 2020

WIth VIPS Reading Partners, I volunteered at a local elementary school and read with children in order to improve their literacy, English, and confidence.

General Volunteering

Through my time in  undergraduate studies at LSU, I have volunteered at various animal shelters, habitat for humanity, ecological projects and a variety of smaller other volunteer opportunities all for the benefit of the greater Baton Rouge area.
